Practically always a wait, which shows how good this place is. Walls are adorned with pictures of celebrity visitors and multiple awards. I've met some people while waiting that have been coming here for years. It's perfect for families or large groups since plates are big and meant for sharing. I loved the Spicy Szechuan Wonton Soup and Slippery Shrimp. There's a bar too, if you want to get some cocktails. They have free parking but it's a very narrow entrance, I usually just go to the paid lot one block down. Street parking is available too

Found this gem while visiting LA! Got the fried noodle special, egg drop soup (for 2), and and the orange chicken special. The orange chicken was super crispy (small bites) and tangy, egg drop soup was piping hot and fresh (perfect egg and soup consistency). And the pan fried noodles had great crunch and then mixed with the sauce it became more savory. I think the orange chicken was my favorite because the batter wasn’t super thick with flour and it was small chicken bites that were lightly coated and then fried, which made it taste perfect. The owner I believe checked in on us which was really awesome! The food came out very quick and fast, and it was hot! Super delicious. Would come back again! There is valet parking in the back, and you just need to bring the ticket to the restaurant for validation.

I’ve been coming to Yang Chow in Chinatown for about 9 years now, and every single visit reminds me why this place is such a classic Los Angeles spot. Over the years, this restaurant has become more than just somewhere to eat—it’s become part of my routine for celebrating wins in life and business. Whenever my team and I closed a big deal or had a major accomplishment, Yang Chow was always one of the first places that came to mind to celebrate. There’s just something about the tradition of sitting down here after a successful day, ordering great Chinese food, and enjoying the atmosphere that makes it feel special every time. Today was a little different because I came by myself, but honestly it was still a great experience. Sometimes you just need a place where you can sit down, relax, and enjoy a great meal—and Yang Chow is perfect for that. The restaurant has that classic Chinatown vibe that feels authentic and welcoming. Walking in, you immediately notice the walls filled with photos and memories, which really shows how much history this place has in Los Angeles. This was my first time visiting this restaurant. On the positive side, the service was incredibly fast—we received our food in less than 15 minutes. However, the staff needs to be much more patient and attentive. I tried to ask for hot sauce, but the server walked away before I could even finish my sentence. ​While the Chicken Chow Mein was fine, I am extremely concerned about the Sweet and Sour Pork Chops. As shown in the photos I’ve attached, the meat was distinctly pink and undercooked in the middle. I didn't notice while eating at the table because I was hungry, but seeing this in my leftovers has me genuinely worried I might get sick. The kitchen really needs to be more careful with their cooking temperatures for safety. I won't be returning👎

Decided to go Chinatown and eat here because of good reviews. Was seated immediately, we are a group of 8. Our server has a bit of difficulty speaking english when we ask questions but the serving is huge. We ended up ordering plenty because of the misunderstanding that each order is good for one when it fact, it is a platter. From the soup, to rice, to everything is huge portion so keep that in mind. The location is not very far from $7 parking garage, used to be $5. Pretty easy to find. If you are looking for good Chinese food, this is your place. Ambiance is so so but we did not mind since all we did was talk. We liked everything, I particularly liked the Slippery Shrimp, Braised Tofu (a hint of spice) and Pork Chop. The Duck is kinda dry.
